Learning Journey
Year 2/3s current Learning Journey question is: What impact did the Romans have on modern Britain?
Reading
Children read daily in school and this can take many forms. As a class, we enjoy sharing and discussing our ‘class read’; the children need to access a range of texts throughout the day from across the curriculum; we have designated reading sessions which allow us to work on techniques such as inference and the exploration of vocabulary; and it is really important that the children continue to read for pleasure.
All children are expected to read at home daily for at least 15 minutes. For further comprehension practice, after completing a book, children are to quiz on Accelerated Reader at school or at home- the expectation is for children to complete at least one quiz a week.
PE Days
Our PE days are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Children are to arrive to school dressed in their PE kit on these days. It is vital that the children bring a water bottle and when the weather is hot, to also bring a hat. Please make sure that they also have sun cream applied on sunny days before they come to school which will last throughout the day (they can bring their own sun cream in their bags if needed).
Outdoor Learning
We will be outside learning as much as we possibly can this term so, please ensure children have their wellies or old shoes and a waterproof coat in school each day. Our dedicated day for outdoor learning is a Monday, please can children come to school wearing suitable outdoor clothes and shoes on this day. Please can you make sure the children are either wearing, or have in their bag, a school jumper or cardigan.
Home learning
Additional homework will be set via Class Dojo.
